SFC CLIP initially started as a project in a seminar; however, we are currently a circle. Every Friday, members gather at Docomo House in SFC to edit and publish articles, eat snacks, and have fun.
SFC CLIP is the direct result of the collaboration between our writers, photographers, and programmers. The text provides written content to inform the reader, the photography adds colorful visual appeal to an article, and our website delivers the content to the reader.
Members can work in any area that suits them. We encourage you to expand your skills. If you are not confident in your abilities, don’t worry! Our senior members are able and willing to teach you everything you need to know to get started.
The text for SFC CLIP articles is written in three steps: interview, writing, and proofreading.
The interview is the main source of information for an article. We interview at a variety of places, including SFC, SFC events (Tanabata-sai, Aki-sai, ORF), and facilities around SFC. We interview students, professors, and graduate students to hear their stories. Interviews usually consist of making an appointment with.
The interview is what becomes the basis of the information that will be on the article. We interview anything from events at SFC (Tanabata-sai, Aki-sai, ORF), facilities near SFC, to students/teachers/graduates of SFC, by making an appointment with related peoples, and using audio/video recording equipment.
After successfully interviewing your subject, we can begin writing the article. It is important to have the reader in mind constantly, since it is important to express your thoughts in a structured way that enables the reader to receive information accurately. Through this process, you can improve your writing skills.
SFC CLIP strives to be an online media platform that accurately conveys information; therefore, proofreading is critical to our mission. Written articles are proofread by the head editor or the assistant editor and are checked by other circle members to ensure writing is accurate and easy to understand. Our weekly Friday meetings are generally devoted to the proofreading and editing process. Through this process, you might even discover new literary phrases!
Once the proofreading process is completed, an article’s next and final step is publication!
We believe that photographs greatly enhance the reader’s experience by adding depth and providing clarity to the reader. All photographs on our website are taken by SFC CLIP members. If you want to take photos for SFC CLIP, our senior members can help you improve your photography techniques, regardless of your experience level. Come master the art of photography with us!
SFC CLIP is powered by our website, which is supported by our programmers. The site design, article editor, and server maintenance are all handled by our members. Being a media platform, SFC CLIP can’t exist without information technology. We are actively seeking new tech crew members and programmers! If you have any interest in programming, please let us know! We welcome everyone, regardless of programming background or prior experience.
